Diary: January09
January 28th Bit of a surprise to get a higher heam reading than that for two months, but I just hope its a last fling. Although with the more physical demanding work, with empting the boat, coppicing and preparing the ground and the legal issues i seem to have and so on there’s it’s hard to avoid stress![]()
January 22th OK another very small spot. Maybe this is to be the case when I have to bucket out the bot and carry some hefty wood?
January 19th Sure there was a very small spot but the second test was fine. I had a lot of physical work yesterday emptying the boat by the bucket, so I’m not surprised yet disappointed. The odd spot is ‘common’ after strenuous work
January 11th/12 Stayed the night at Michal’s anticipating rain and wanting to get to court relatively dry. But Lower abdomen, bladder area feeling hot again.:? Yeap! damn it. A few spots this evening. Well as least I know that the feeling does precede the bleeding : so what is happening????
January 6th : Midday Lower abdomen, bladder area feeling hot.![]()
January 1st 2009 Bummer of a start. Although it is a low reading a haem count is not good in any event: but at the start of a new year. However a new year it is not really, and it can’t always get better, well so it seems. So is there stress involved:- the walking, the standing in the cold, Jay and here environment, the general disturbance of a few days or the last week, Rowena and Piero coming to visit today or burning plastic or smoke from the fire last night. Who knows, but it does make me want to be more careful. Emotional stress brought upon by being in more careless environments would seem to be the only acceptable excuse.

Diary: December
Hopes: That this month will see a reduction in the blood loss. Test results below 0.3 for the first fortnight would be OK
Fears: That there will be none or an increase over November
31st December Away for two days without the sticks so I interpolated there was no count as prior and after the two days the count was zero.
20th December Lately, for weeks the twinges have returned which is becoming a concern. Unaccompanied by any noticeable bleeding I wonder if it is a deep rooted issue and not urothelial
17th December The early morning pee showed two spots in the haem test but that was with a very concentrated sample and very small amount. I did two other tests during the day both of which were negative - so I used a zero rating as the average for the day, although arguably one would have been more accurate.
Updated 20th 13:33 Changed result to 1 ![]()
The good news is that the first two weeks were genuinely free and if the rest of December is good, well …![]()

Cytology: Sept - Nov
October-November
Shelly has shown the pictures to colleagues at Exeter, but has urgent family issues to deal with. So I’ll be waiting a while.
October
Have had a quick look at the reports and pictures with Shelly, and she intends to take them to her work colleagues for further views. Thence we will look at the slides.
September 19th
Spoke to Shelly and will call her when I get the piccies.
September 17th
Spoke to Laura and she said the loan of the slides is to avoid them lending me the microscope etc.
September 16th
Yesterday I paid to have pictures taken of the dodgy cells in my June tests.
The option will be to:
- Take more pictures of the slides: Must check my compact flash cards are viable.
- Take the slides to Exeter for further analysis.
- Do another cytology test. Have to chase up the staining procedure.
Diary: November
OK! November wasn’t the best month, nothing serious but nothing good. The twinges have returned which is a worry and th overall test for haem in the pee were not as good as hoped for. So a dissapointing period.
16th November: Despite still feeling twingie, going to town yesterday and eating crap and coppicing and sawing wood today the results are clear in terms of haem but there were casts in the pee.
15th November: Nope! Things are a bit twingie lately and there are markers to show for it.
So November hasn’t been as good as was expected.
9th November: A couple of days back at the ranch and things are settling down to zero marker. So apples may be better than you think, except for the teeth. So back to coppicing, wood cutting, leave collecting and compost building.
7th November: I’ve just spent a couple of nights with a friend as she wanted company going to the local authority and there was plumbing being carried out whilst she was at work. The main problem is that I got stressed out a couple of times, laughably over computer programming/application issues which brought on twinges and subsequent blood in the pee. I’m hoping that a week on the land and it will go away. The question that arises is how does stress cause this. My thinking is that certain hormones or chemicals are produced which are an irritant to a sensitive or damaged system.
Nearly every time this occurs it is a slight burning sensation to the left of the lower abdomen, which I associate with the left kidney to bladder ureter.
3rd November: Yeap! it’s not the 5th yet but BANG! goes my hope for this month to be the first with no blood in the pee.
However I was expecting it a bit as I felt I strained myself cutting wood and pulling up small trees yesterday. Could feel a twinge? Had I done a test yesterday the results may have been more alarming. As it is there was only a small dot showing as non-haemolysis marker, so I may do another test later just to confirm. Its also worth noting that it was the first early morning pee after eating a fair bit more yesterday including some beans (Adzuki and Mung)
