Diary: May 11 to May 17
May 11th 08:02
Well I expected a poor pee showing after yesterday so not a good start to the 'week' but hopefully it can only get better.
-:- 13:10 Not feeling too good? -:- 16:50 Feel more twingie and tired. -:- 18:55 Not checking pee yet as colour is off. May check later tonight after eating etc.
Follow up:
I am taking Chinese Medicine as I've been offered some by a friend, Verity. I have called the supplier, Dr Hua's Chinese Herbs 0207 2581538 to ensure they are vegan and to enquire about their use. I can find out what they are used for via the web and will try different ones roughly each fortnight. The quantity recommended and provided per 'bottle' last about a week in some case a few weeks.
So this week, 11th May to 17th may I'm trying Xiao Yao Wan, meaning Free and Easy Wanderer. It supposed to help relieve stress, which seems a good idea and is sometimes called the 'Happy Pill'. ![]()

Yesterday evening ate any old thing to distract me. This morning haven't eaten, only drank one cup of lemon juice but pee seems more diluted. However there is a lot of blood recognised and bits are clearly in the urine.
-:- 17:32 Apart from removing hogweed and knotweed early morning, I've drank a few cups of Xiao Yao Wan tea, eaten a bowl of buckwheat and fried leeks and had a couple of cups of the steaming water from last night with yeast extract, and had an hour or two sleep. So urine test outcome as hoped.

A few major minor notes.
- Its the second day of testing just after I get up and the readings are low. This challenges the idea of testing at midday after having drunk more. I was clearly worrying and wanting to use what I considered a more positive output time.
- From the last few days the acidic count has been up and down and I haven't looked into this yet
- Been working fairly hard these last few days so I must note the work more clearly so as to see if/how it impacts.
-:- 17:44 I noticed more twinges and have had company to pay attention to, so I know I'm getting stressed. What I call stress is just how I used to 'live'
May 16th 10:20
Well I've gathered that both the BTA Stat and NMP22 test kits use animal derived markers so -:- 10:36 I have emailed Dr McCormick to say I'm sorry but I won't be using them but is there an option for a cytology test.
Hi.
Sorry to have taken so long to update you. I did receive the letter asking me to make an appointment, but I've been waiting for updates on the BTA Stat and NMP22 availability. I had arranged a price for a box of BTA Stat kits and then found out they use an animal derivative. My vegan meditation means that I will avoid using them. It has taken me another 10 days to discover the same is used in the NMP22 kits ( I have only just spoke to the supplier in Germany).
So I don't want to use them anyway now. Oops! That means I have had you needlessly enquiring on my behalf so I feel a bit bad about that.
The only other non-invasive option I have read about is the cytology examination, which although doesn't have a high rate of recognition in some cases, is reported to be 99% accurate when it gives a positive assessment.
Is there anyway I can have a urine sample so tested and is there any point in coming to see you as I imagine you were going to update me on the urologists view on the BTA Stat and NMP22 options.
Thanks for everything
Roger Lovejoy
-:- 16:01 Haven't eaten nor drunk much but seemed to have peed a lot. Feeling twingie but am off to pump out the boat and pull some Japanese Knotweed before I eat.

Despite feeling a bit twingie yesterday, although I noticed it was a slightly different feeling my me has no markers this morning. I was a bit surprised and checked with both makes of stick. Notable is the acidic marker that the mission sticks give. Something is clearly amiss with one of them.
