Blood and Wine

Ok this is the third week of proper bloggin diary and I'm feeling ok. Hopefully I will have resolved sources for the 3 urine testing options and be able to present a case to Dr M. -:-17:16 Urine test results are unusual. I had decided just to use the UriTest sticks, but given the low blood count reading I thought I would check with the 'Mission Urinalysis' sticks. They however didn't detect any blood. Well there were almost a few green dots but not really (there was on the UriTest). I even dipped the stick again to add more urine.
Must read up on the dots issue.

After a bit meal and lots of liquid I got up in the night to pee and both that and this first early morning show little haem B.

29th April
Made a number of calls to South West Hospitals to see who may carry the BTA Stat and/or NMP22 testing options. No luck.

I'm a bit frustrated that I haven't got anywhere with the BTA Stat, Cytology and NMP22 tests, and nervous that the very low blood count in my urine is just a temporary anomalie.
I have lots of work to do on the land, its raining for days and I have very little power in the batteries. A few more days and things should be looking up

Just received an email from Nick Darker, Mediwatch. He doesn't have any short date stock but will sell me ten for £100. Just checking if that's exclusive of VAT and delivery. -:- 14:10 Yeap just received an update from Nick. VAT isn't included. He's checking out postage. -:- 14:55 Pee is haem +++ again. Drank about 175ml wine last night.

I wasn't expecting a good result from my urine haem test this morning and was surprised. It was almost negative. If I hadn't waited a while I wouldn't have noticed the slight change in colour.
The factors that make this reading unexpected are:

• It was the first pee of the morning and therefore collects over a long time.
• I had drunk about 150ml of wine the night before.
• Had worked fairly hard on the land digging.

So clearly this doesn't support the idea that work and wine do much to elevate the blood levels without there being a background sensitivity.

Weekly Summary
Clearly this has been the best week for a month, since I went to the doctors. I have sourced one of the three alternative methods used in urine analysis for bladder cancer.
